Wow – die Dinger sind wirklich schnelllllll! Zum Abschluss meines Neuseeland-Aufenthalts habe ich mir noch eine Jetboot-Fahrt auf dem Waikato bei Taupo geleistet. So eine Fahrt wollte ich eigentlich schon in Queenstown machen aber dort hatte ich irgendwie keine Zeit (ist ein richtiger Stress, so ein Sabbatical… 😉 ). Die Boote werden durch einen Wasserstrahl angetrieben, haben kaum Tiefgang und sind extrem wendig. Damit lässt sich hervorragend auf Flüssen durch Schluchten rasen – immer möglichst nahe an den Felsen entlang damit Adrenalin-Schübe garantiert sind. Angeblich alles ganz ungefährlich obwohl ich wieder eines dieser langen Formulare unterschreiben musste inkl. Angabe eines Notfall-Konktakts… Ein paar Bilder der Fahrt habe ich in die Gallery gestellt.
Wow – they are really faaaaaaast!!!!!!! At the end of my New Zealand adventures I went on a jet boat tour on the Waikato River near Taupo. Actually, I wanted to do such a tour in Queenstown already but somehow I didn’t have any time left down there (what a stress such a sabbatical can be… 😉 ). These boats are powered by a thrust of water, need very few water to float only and are extremely maneuverable. They are made to speed through river gorges – always as close as possible to the rocks so that your adrenalin rushes. Everything’s completely save of course although I had to sign one of those long questionnaires again and fill in detailed emergency contacts… A few pictures of the ride can be found in the Gallery.
